"Andreas Palfinger is designer with affinity for art; an artist with affinity for design. He aims to combine these incongruent spheres; to compose.
The artist-self is opposing the graphic-design-self, which is working with client briefings, with user stories, with needs and wants. The works abduct into a world of dreams and nightmares, acting against the common obsession with perfection, beauty and happiness.
A characteristic feature is the interplay of intuition and conception, of aesthetics and anti-aesthetics. The works are an intuitive expression of personal sensations or general critique, sucked through brain and hand, attached to a rather melancholic and pessimistic style. Discomfort and morbidness seem essential."
