Andreas Palfinger (AT) is a New York based architectural designer and interdisciplinary artist, practicing within the frameworks of organic–parametric geometry, narrative media and speculative fiction.
Andreas’ works are articulated through CGI, time-based media, writing or sculpture. He uses artistic strategies and research to reflect on topics such as post-apocalyptic societies, biased algorithms, the deconstruction of democracies, and speculative biology.

Besides his independent practice Andreas is Fulbright Scholar at Pratt Institute in New York and is teaching his studio course ›Biomorphic Topologies‹ at the Parametric Architecture Academy.
He previously worked for MAD Architects (Beijing), ODA Architecture (New York), the future-oriented design studio Superflux (London), Studio Tim Fu and CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), created architectural sets in VR and AR for fashion, dance and performances, and recently directed and produced his award-winning short film ›Mother Arkah‹

Andreas studied architecture, graphic design, industrial design, painting, and animated film at ›Die Angewandte‹ (University of Applied Arts Vienna, Austria), Bauhaus University Weimar (Germany) and Pratt Institute, New York.

Recent exhibitions included Art Basel Miami, European Forum Alpbach and Vienna Biennale.
Andreas was honored at the International Design Awards, the Art Directors Club of Europe Awards, the Red Dot Awards, the Dezeen Awards, and the New York International Film Awards.
