Dr. Google

»Dr Google, the adivsor for serious self-diagnostics«
A collection of questions people asked on the internet regarding their health, and the hysterical answers provided by the Google search engine.

The layout of this book is referring to the Swiss style. The Cover is a combination of the red cross (symbol of doctors) and Googles’ the color palette.
Color- and image concept: The articles are combined Victorian-era medical drawings, which underline the factor of hysterics. The book starts with a red paper and ends with a blue one. The colors if all the images in between (one per article) adapt the gradient from the cover image and go from red to yellow to green to blue. Browsing through the book means browsing through the gradient – this visual concept is picked up by the table of contents.

In 2019 the book got into the top 5 of the CCA Student of the Year Award.
Furthermore it was shown in the exhibition “Die schönsten Bücher Österreichs, Deutschlands, der Schweiz und der Niederlande / The most beautiful books of Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands”, Vienna 2019

A Populist's Guide

This guide provides 7 steps on how to transform a democratic system into dictatorship. The “New Right’s” guiding principles are translated into the design of this guide, implementing the dissolution of existing systems, progressive radicalization and network structures in layout, typography and imagery of each step. Reading the guide from back to front yields possible answers on how to restore democracy.

This project is part of the exhibition “Information Superpower” at Graphic Matters, Breda, The Netherlands.
Furthermore it was shown in the exhibitions “Die schönsten Bücher Österreichs, Deutschlands, der Schweiz und der Niederlande / The most beautiful books of Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands”, and “Angewandte Festival 19”, both Vienna 2019

It was created in late 2016 for the entrance exam of the University of Applied Arts Vienna, class for graphic design, where only 7 out of 150 applicants get accepted – I made it.
